Volunteering @ Almost Eden Garden

Bay Area food pantries struggle to provide nutritious food for the local homeless and low-income population. The Almost Eden Garden Project grows premium-quality organic produce for several local organizations that provide meals and services for homeless and low-income families. It strives to grow quality produce organically and sustainably. In this volunteer activity we collect the vegetables that were grown by this farm, prepare the compost and beds for the plants.

It was a wonderful experience volunteering in Almost Eden Garden. I got to learn so much about preparing the bed for planting veggies. I also learnt that by using hay they were saving water, preventing weeds and creating a healthy environment. It is always refreshing to do gardening work.
