Darshan2Divinity (D2D) – Mindfulness

What is mindfulness? Why do we need to be mindful?

Mindfulness is the act of being aware or having awareness. Being aware will help us to be in our present moment. By being in the present moment, we can very much enjoy the current events. When we dwell in our past, we cannot perform the duties we are supposed to perform in this life time. This will not only impact our current life time but future life times too. We can be in the present moment, only if our mind is calm and have clarity in our thoughts. Mindfulness is one of the key elements required in one’s own spiritual journey.

What factors affect mindfulness?

There are several factors that impact one not to be in the present moment. But the key factor is the mind. The food we eat, the association, will have a greater impact on our thoughts. So to be mindful or aware, we need to cultivate good thoughts either through food or Satsang or by multiple other means.

How do we (at Darshan2Divinity) help being mindful?

At Darshan2Divinity we believe in – “We become what we eat”. In Bhagavad Gita, Lord Sri Krishna has prescribed Sattwic food habits, to reach God and transcend beyond the highest guna. We provide several Sattwic food recipes that help us evolve spiritually. We also perform activities that increase our Sattwic nature. We do potluck, which help develop the virtues of gratitude and sharing. All these activities will help cultivate good thoughts. We also have “Feeding the cow” program, to serve the Sattwic animal, the Cow.
