Lend a Hand at Medshare – San Leandro

This activity is related to packing the medical supplies to the needy. MedShare collects the unused but yet new medical equipments from various hospitals across Bay area. As volunteers we will help MedShare categorize, label and pack these medical supplies. These supplies will be sent to any country that is in need of medical supplies. MedShare also sends various big medical equipments as well to the hospitals across the globe.

    I felt so satisfied after the volunteer work, because 3 hours of our volunteer service will provide medical supplies to somebody, who really needs them. We are fortunate to have good health care service for our self and we are fortunate to spend some time in helping people who are providing medical supplies to poor people. Thank you very much for giving me an opportunity in this event.

    This Medical supply sorting work was so amazing. I was so impressed about the work of the organization and so happy for the opportunity to be a part of it for a few hours. I was so sad to know the real condition of the underdeveloped countries and was shocked to know the wastages in the developed countries. I am so thankful that I’ve always been in a good place with good health. I am thankful for the opportunity too to help people across countries.

    It was nice to see so many volunteers at this event. After hearing the plight of many developing/under – developed nations, I consider myself fortunate to have been blessed with good health care system and health. So much effort goes in making even a simple band – aid made available to poor countries. I consider myself to be fortunate to have participated in this event. Initially I was focused on getting to know the sorting work and this was a little bit of a challenge. Later when I did the sorting with the noble cause in mind and heart, I was able to enjoy it.

    I was very happy when I found this volunteer work through HOBA. I knew we were going to sort medical supplies but I did not know the impact it had until I arrived there. As we enjoy lot of comforts we never realize how much people are deprived of them. Only volunteering keeps us awake and very grateful for all we have. Thank you all for participating and thank you Vijay for giving me an opportunity to take care of volunteering for a while.

    Hello Volunteers,

    Thank you for coming to volunteer at MedShare last Saturday. We greatly appreciate you partnering with MedShare to help provide medical supplies to needy hospitals in 90 countries. Your group did a great job sorting 1878 pounds of medical supplies and packing 71 boxes that will end up on shipments to hospitals and clinics all over the globe. The contents of these boxes will make an incredible difference
