Salvation Army is a church and an international charitable organization striving to serve the people in need. They provide services like Family Support, supporting homeless people, Youth and senior services. [1]

D2D focuses on serving food to the needy. We volunteer at the Salvation Army – Emmanuel house services where they provide food for the homeless people every weekend. As volunteers we cooked food and served approximately 200 people. The volunteering event was on Saturday 19th Sep, 2014 from 2PM to 6PM.

I’ve really enjoyed this volunteering event. It has been a really wonderful experience serving food to the needy. The satisfaction i have got was tremendous. Preparing and serving the food is just one part of this entire fun event. I have also cherished working with new volunteers, who have shown keen interest in volunteering. The overall experience is fantastic. And last but not the least, serving food to approximately 200 is a great feeling. I would like to attend many more of these events. Thank you to Guru and the volunteering team for all the hard work behind making this event happen.
