SHFB is a very interesting and vibrant place to volunteer at. There are usually a lot of different activities at Cypress center around packing vegetables, fruits, processed foods etc., This time we were asked to pack Pears in boxes to be distributed to the needy. It was fun. At the end, i was amazed how much work was accomplished. It was nice to work with everyone. I really enjoyed the event. Thank you to everyone who took time to participate in this event.

I enjoyed the event. Though not a surprise it is always wonderful to see how effective we can be as a team. Had some good workout as well. Also it is great to see so many kind hearted people donating food. These are very good ones. I enjoyed working with our team and the lunch prepared and served by D2D members.

Volunteering at Second Harvest was both fun and rewarding. It’s good to know that some of the extra produce will go to feeding those who need it most instead of just wasting away. I was very impressed with the number of people there as well as the range of ages, from high school to seniors, all helping out. Between the intriguing conversations I had and the sense of spending my time well to help others, it made for a great morning. I will definitely be back and am looking forward to the next event.

Volunteering with Second Harvest was an incredibly eye opening experience. The sheer number of volunteers and the amount of families helped by their efforts was inspiring. The work itself was interesting as we met many people volunteering their time as well. I left that afternoon feeling like I had made a difference and I will definitely look into volunteering there again.
